Terms of service

Last updated: 4 May 2026 · v1.0

These are the terms you and Synchior agree to when you use the service. Plain English. If something here is unclear, email hello@synchior.com and we'll rewrite it.

1. Who you're agreeing with

"Synchior" or "we" means Sanjok Bhatta, sole operator of the Synchior service, contactable at hello@synchior.com. "You" means the person using the service via a registered account. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

2. What Synchior is — and isn't

Synchior is a personal-coaching app that uses an AI model to help you set and track objectives + key results. The coach is not a medical, mental health, legal, or financial professional. It is an information-and- accountability tool — useful, but not a substitute for qualified human advice.

You must be 16 or older to use Synchior. If you're using Synchior on behalf of a minor, do not.

3. Your account

You're responsible for the security of your sign-in email. Magic-link tokens expire in 15 minutes and are single-use; if you suspect someone else has accessed your account, sign out from all devices via the app and email us.

One account per person. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent, or impersonate someone else.

4. Pricing

During the v0.x period the service is free. When pricing ships, we will announce it in the app at least 14 days before any charge, and existing users will be given a clear opt-in. We will never enroll you in a paid plan without an explicit confirmation tap.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the objectives, key results, conversations, and other content you put into Synchior. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the service for you (storing it, displaying it back, generating coach replies grounded in it).

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your content. See the privacy policy for the full treatment.

7. Coach packs (CKMS)

When third-party coaches publish packs on Synchior (CKMS — coming in a later release), the content of those packs belongs to the coaches. You receive a license to use it via your subscription; you do not acquire ownership. Coaches receive a revenue share for citations of their packs in your sessions; the share percentage is shown on the coach's page.

8. AI output

Coach replies are generated by an AI model (Google Gemini, hosted in EU regions). They can be wrong. The coach will acknowledge uncertainty and cite sources where it can, but the burden of judgment is yours. Critical decisions (health, finance, legal, relationships in crisis) should be made with qualified humans, not the coach.

Per the EU AI Act, every AI-generated reply in the app carries a visible AI badge. Where the coach refuses or redirects (out-of-scope, crisis, professional referral), it does so transparently — not as a model failure but as a deliberate boundary.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no contractual uptime guarantees while the service is free. If the service is down, the daily card and the coach pause; your data is preserved.

10. Termination

You can delete your account any time via Settings → Delete account. The deletion soft-locks for 7 days (so you can change your mind), then purges. Backups age out within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms after giving you a chance to fix the issue, except for serious violations (security attacks, harassment) where we may act without notice. We will tell you what was wrong and offer a path to reinstatement when appropriate.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the coach's advice is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under EU consumer law (gross negligence, willful misconduct, personal injury, or rights of EU consumers).

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflicts of laws. EU consumers retain the protections of their country of residence.

13. Changes

When we change these terms, we update the "Last updated" date above and surface a banner inside the app for 14 days. If a change is material (new charges, new content licensing terms), we email you and give you the option to delete your account before the change takes effect.
